Hi, I'm Stéphanie, the head (and the brushes) behind Grimages.com! 🦊
Born in 1985, I've always loved face painting: as a little girl, I got my face painted whenever the chance came up! Then I wanted to pick up the brush myself, and my mom and my sister became my very first guinea pigs. Back then, though, science and sports were what really drew me in.
🤸 A childhood at full speed
Ten years of gymnastics, then ten years of basketball, not to mention the youth movement, where I did it all: first as a member, then as a leader. After studying executive secretarial work with a medical option, I became a civil servant. The creative side came later, but one childhood dream never left me: "playing shop" for real. My mom ran a shop too, so I guess it runs in the family!
🎨 The spark
It all started again in 2014, when my daughter Violette asked me to paint her face for the school carnival. A few supplies, some online tutorials… and I was hooked all over again! Birthday parties for the kids and their friends kept coming, and in November 2015, encouraged by my family and coworkers, I created "Le Renard qui trace".
📚 Always learning
Self-taught at first, I trained at the International Face Painting School, then at workshops with big names in face painting: Nick Wolfe, LodieUp, Annabel Hoogeveen, Cameron Garrett, Matteo Arfanotti… Every encounter helped me grow, and that drive to learn has never left me. With demand growing all the time, I became self-employed on the side in October 2018.
🛍️ The birth of Grimages.com
In 2020, in the middle of the COVID crisis, my friend MarieGrime, where I bought my supplies, decided to sell her business. Together with Sébastien, my amazing teammate since 2004, we talked it over and decided to combine our skills: me with face painting, him with web development. Together, we set up our company, and in August 2020, Grimages.com was born! The shop grew fast, we moved into a bigger space where I can also teach my classes, and in May 2022, after 14 years, I left my civil service job to give it 200%. Leaving the security of a stable job, in the middle of COVID, to sell colors and glitter… let's be honest, it was pretty scary!
💛 And today?
I run Grimages.com hand in hand with Sébastien, the man behind the scenes of the website. In our shop in Namur and online, you'll find everything you need for face painting, temporary tattoos, and special effects, carefully selected from the best brands. And because my brushes never really leave my side, I still paint faces at events and share my tips and tricks in classes and private lessons.
🙏 Thank you!
Thank you to Sébastien, my rock, without whom none of this would exist. Thank you to my two children for their patience: I love them with all my heart, they are the real glitter in my life. Thank you to my sister for being my very first guinea pig, and to my mom, a guinea pig too and the shopkeeper who made me want a shop of my own. Thank you to my dad, always ready to help me with our new shop project: design, demolition, construction, fitting out… he loves it! Thank you as well to my whole family and my loved ones, who supported me despite their doubts at the beginning. And thank you to you, my loyal customers, for helping this adventure grow day after day.
My favorite mission? Helping you find the right supplies and inspiring you to create. Welcome to Grimages.com! ✨
